However many years ago, I read two books that introduced me to (and made me love) Urban fiction. The Coldest Winter Ever and, True To The Game.
Predators reminded me how great the genre could be. Predators takes you through Detroit and a host of characters:
Larry, Thad, BJ, Chi Chi, Rayfil and so it goes. You never get confused. No typos or lack of cohesion.
I couldn't put it down, wondering what was going to happen next.

In the book “Predators” by Terri woods, you find yourself as a reader literally dropping your jaw at the suspense. This book is based around a bunch of drug dealers “owning” Detroit. Each of them has the money and power to basically run the entire city, but first they have to get to the top. When one mans soldier falls, it becomes an all out war all over the city. Innocent people gets killed, and hurt for the revenge on someone else.

This book has a couple of main characters, but the two most important are Thad, and BJ; who basically are almost at the top of the “drug chain”. They run a gang, occupying young mens lives who they use as mules to transport their drugs and money around the city. Thad and BJ are an unstoppable team who looses some important people in their journey, causing them to make some unyielding decisions. They hit some major bumps and distractions in their paths, but they overcome them and continue to make their money.

Terri Woods did a great job in detail. I can almost feel the things written. When coming up on a murder scene, I sometimes cringe at the detail and gore. Its not disgusting, but its suspenseful, and tense. You want to know whats coming up next. They author wanted the reader to figure out that every man is really for themselves. Sometimes a friend would say that to you after a heart break, but its completely true. In order to get what you want, you have people with you, and you have a whole bunch of people against you. I learned that doing things on your own is really the only way your going to get things done your way.

This book has some pretty cruel characters that will leave you breathless and i mean that literally. From start to finish it had me guessing what was about to happen next. To some it may be a little to violent.

This book to crazy and that is in a good way. I have to say that everybody was crazy as hell. I didn't like how B.J. went about things further on in the book. I thought it would have been a better outcome. Larry was a schemer thru and thru and worked everybody all around. Thad was sick as ever and it haunted him since his childhood. Chi Chi was straight up cray cray. She got hers anyway she could. I knew she would not be a ride a die chick. I think Lisa was dealt a dirty hand in the beginning even though she was a crackhead. Chi Chi should have never did her dirty, but Lisa was able to return the favor. Chi Chi was ok with what she did, but was not able to handle it when Lisa turn around a paid the favor back. Now that was truly karma for Chi Chi. I thought this was actually another good book by Teri Woods.
