The caption “Higher score guaranteed” is a plausible point of advertising

To many people, their score on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is critical to getting into graduate school, their ticket to a career with better pay and prestige. These people are often those with a less than stellar academic record, or experience in another, unrelated field. With a lack of academic background in their chosen new career, their only hope is to perform well on the GRE in order to demonstrate their academic versatility.
Since the GRE exam has several components, different forms of in-depth study may be necessary. The most important is often the verbal component, one of the most revealing characteristics of intellectual versatility is the ability to score well in verbal skills. The ability to read and understand passages describing unfamiliar material demonstrates that the person is capable of adapting to and learning new concepts.
This book gives you a great deal of practice in the skills of reading comprehension and critical analysis as well as the basics of vocabulary improvement. For most people, many of the words will be unfamiliar, but through a process of logical reasoning based on elimination and understanding root words, you will learn to identify the best answers.
There are detailed explanations of the answers to all the questions. The caption “Higher score guaranteed” appears on the front cover, ordinarily such entries are unsubstantiated hype, but in this case it is believable. Provided the reader is diligent in working through the exams and performing detailed actions of self-correction.
With so much at stake for many people taking the GRE exams, the purchase and processing of the contents of this book is time and money very well spent.
