Can Ruby find a way to survive the escalating changes in her life? Will she ever discover the inner strength she knows is buried deep inside? The countdown has begun. Danger is coming, whether she’s ready or not. Will the need come to her aid as it never has before, or is it much too late for hope?

About this Ruby is book one with more to follow. Please be aware this story contains on-page violence, bullying, fighting, mild sexual content and assault. It also contains a quirky MC, a BF who is trying his best, and a stepdad that deserves an award. Oh, there's also bleeding involved. It is a vampire novel after all.

✨ I received this book as an ARC for my honest review✨

Rate: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Think Twilight but Bella doesn't know she's already a vampire. While I did enjoy this book. It was a bit slow at times for my liking. Ruby is a senior in high school who has been bullied since her mother passed away and has finally had enough of it. Patrick is a vampire who is trying to complete his coming-of-age trials.

It seems that fate has never favored Ruby with everything that she has gone through. Having met randomly Patrick becomes intrigued by Ruby and is convinced that she is a vampire like him. However, in Patrick’s world, vampires are suppressed and enslaved. Ruby will be anything but weak. Ruby craves chaos, and chaos craves her. While the story is intriguing about who Ruby is, it moved a little slow for my liking, but I still ate it up!

Since meeting Ruby, Patrick’s view of female vampires has changed, and I cannot wait to see if Patrick will bring the change that his world needs. I hope we get to see that in the upcoming book, as well as who really is Ruby’s father and if she is who the prophecy is about.

This book is so amazing for anyone who like fantasy, romance, or mystery. The writing is incredible and you can tell how well thought out and planned the story was. Many books with action scenes can feel like the books pacing lacks but this one keeps a good pacing throughout. The plot twists were very good and surprising. As someone who usually guessing the plot twists in books i think they were great because they were surprising while still making sense in the story. Although I would think most people who like twilight would like Ruby, I think Ruby is more of a dark romance. Twilight is very near and dear to my heart but Ruby is threatening to overtake it. I love both for different reasons. None of the characters are one dimensional and they all have several good and bad traits which makes the book feel for human. I love Ted 😂 This is a must read and I am so excited for the next books in the series!!

Incredible. In this dark fantasy romance, Romantasy at its finest. This book is interesting. This was not what I expected when I started to read this book but I can honestly say that I loved it. This is a coming-of-age novel at its finest with fantasy aspects and romance. As if being a teenager wasn't hard enough add all that stuff in plus mental issues and loss/grief and you have the makings of something great. To make things even better there are vampires. This was better than my first reading of twilight. Holly Fish has outdone herself well done. RUN TO AMAZON TO GO GET YOUR COPY. I KNOW I AM 🥰😍😘.

Ruby senior year, she is bullied. She meets Patrick, who is a vampire, and tells her she is too. But she is not convinced, but she knows she is different. It is an intriguing vampire story with some mystery, intensity, bullying, and young love.

I like the story it was weird in a good way. But to me it was slow which I'm okay with but it was too slow for my taste. Other than that awesome read and I hope to read more of your work.

Tropes: YA paranormal romance, first love, vampires, the chosen one, hurt/comfort, dark elements

This story was rarely interesting and unique. Both Ruby and Patrick struggle with their own problems and goals. Figuring out what those were kept me turning pages. I especially loved the unpredictable nature of events. It was a bit tame compared to what I usually read but well worth the time. My only issue was when the adrenaline fueled parts slowed down a bit too much. This is my honest opinion, freely given.
