Tears of Esperanza by Bill Lace takes a hard look at immigration reform.
The book approaches the sensitive topic of SB1070 from the perspectives of different individuals. The characters in this book are all from different socioeconomic backgrounds, yet they’re all connected somehow. The storyline reminded me a little of the movie Crash.
Mr. Lace does a good job shining a spotlight on the life of undocumented individuals and their plight to make 'it' in the States.
Tears of Esperanza is a poignant story and I give it 4 stars.

I would have given this book 10 stars if I could have. People and issues on many sides of the immigration debate come to life in this well-written novel. I highly recommend that you just read it!
