This book is a biography of Bhandaru Acchamamba (1874-1905), Telugu literature's first short story writer. The multifaceted Acchamamba is also regarded as one of the early feminist historians of India. In her short life-span of 30 years, she got educated by listening to her brother's lessons, mastered several languages, wrote short stories and essays on women issues and also started compiling a collection "Abala Saccharitra Ratnamala", profiles of Indian women from Vedic times.
