TROPE CHECK Holiday Billionaire Family Secrets Surprise Baby
This novella was absolutely wonderful. It's great to see how Jun and Tuck evolved in their relationship as parents. Also, how Tucker relationship with Rich transformed with time and to see him healing old heart wounds was beautiful. Now, the star of this book was Michelangelo... Lo is my baby! He must be protected!!! This was fun and sweet and sooo steamy! A perfect companion for free-form!
Thank you so much to the author for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Trope: marriage in distress, secrets Angst: 😱😱 Smexy: 🔥
This is a nice follow-up to Free-Form. We got to meet June and Tucker as a married couple with a kid. Their lives have drastically changed and they aren't on the same page. I love that author gave us this book so we could get a glimpse of what June and Tucker have been up to.
I loved that we got some extra from June and Tucker! I couldn’t wait to see what happened in the years before this book! This author is always so amazing and captures my attention with every book I read!
I really felt connected to this book emotionally and felt like it spoke to me specifically about life. The life lessons here are huge and ones I would love to take and use in my own life if things were different. I worried so hard for what was to come because I am invested in these two and it broke my heart to not only see June in pain but also Tucker. I wanted to give them some slaps on the head to knock it off and boy does this author do a great job of leading you to believe something!! I, of course, cried several times and this wasn’t even a long enough book for all the tears!
I think things were perfect for this book and am in awe for not only it being such a good read but for me to have everything I could’ve needed to round out my feelings about them! It has the drama must, scared moment, fighting scene, sexy time and swoon moments!
While I really enjoyed Free-Form, I wasn't loving Free-Spirit. The idea of taking a look into June and Tucker's life together 9 years after Free-Form ended was intriguing but I guess I'm more an a HEA fan than I thought. It felt disappointing to watch them experience more ups and downs in their established life together. I know, completely unrealistic for me to expect them to have the perfect HEA still 9 years later. I will say their kid is adorable and it was fun to see the life they had created. It was well written but missed the mark for me.
Thank you to the author and DS Book Promotions for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.
June has a secret. She just keeps missing the opportunity to share with Tucker. Tucker has been very busy with their son. Now. Right now he wants and adventure that does not involve his wife and his son. He does something that is a pitfall in many a relationships. There was a lot to catchup on with where life is for June and Tucker. There at catch ups on lives involving second hand characters for this story. But for those that had their one story in other Xavier Neal books.
Free-Spirit was my first book from Xavier, but it certainly won't be my last. It was everything I needed and more; this was a sweet, steamy, quick, and funny read.
We get a glimpse of June and Tucker's lives years later and how married life and being parents have treated them. Tucker and June have been keeping some secrets, and things get a little complicated, but all they need to do is listen and communicate because marriage is hard work, but it's nothing they can't handle.
This novella was exactly what I needed before I went to bed. I loved that we got some more of June and Tuck, and I loved being able to see how Tuck and June's relationship had evolved from dating to married life and having kids. I very much enjoyed the first book Free Form, and I was really excited for this one. Even though this was a novella, I don't think that it was lacking at all. It has drama, humor, spice and is the whole package in my opinion. Such a good story.
I just LOVED getting to dig back in to Tucker and June, seeing where life has taken them and those around them. They are strong characters in a story that I could not put down. June and Tucker have grown together, expanding their relationship with each other, and seeing that connection warms my heart. This is a quick read with laughs, emotions and a lot of love!
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
It was so awesome to get more of Tucker and June. While I feel you could enjoy this as a standalone, you'll be missing out on a lot if you don't read Free-Form first. I loved this novella that really offered up the complete package. Humor, drama, heat, tension, heart, cuteness, sweetness and poignancy are skillfully crafted into an incredible read that tugs at your heartstrings and makes you laugh as it hits you with plenty of feelings and swoon. This is my freely posted, frank review.
This was a short quick look into the lives of June and Tucker and I loved catching up with them and their new addition, Lo. We are given a glimpse into their lives as they navigate their individual needs and family needs. As always, well done Mrs. Xavier.
This little novella was everything I needed. It’s been ages since I got to be with June and Tucker Frost, and I’m here for it! Their little boy was so dang cute, and he had me cracking up. So much happened in this little read, but I also think it will teach us to love ourselves, make time for ourselves and our families. I really hope we get to see more of these three!
Tucker and June are back in Xavier Neal's newest release.
There was plenty to love about this little novella that continues on the story of Tucker and June Frost. Not only were they great characters the first time around but they are just as loveable this time too. Add in the addition of their sweet, funny son it's a recipe for more entertainment.
Set nine years in the future on a family holiday there was lots of intimate moments with Tucker and June and plenty of family fun times as well.
It was really nice to get more out of the characters. If you enjoyed all the art references and puns from book one, don't worry there are some here in book two also.
Free-Spirit is a fun quick read with some characters you'll already love from Free-Form. Don't miss it if you're already read Free-Form. . . . It's nine years down the track and Tucker and June are still hopelessly in love and still trusting in fate to guide them. Things aren't easy though with their son who is the perfect combination of the two. He's got Tucker's free spirit, artistic talent, and love of life. While he has June's clumsiness, brains, and compassion.
A family holiday should be a chance to spend some quality time as a family and a couple but both are a little caught up in their own heads. Secrets are being kept even though they swore to always talk and be open, but finding time to talk with a son who is always on the go isn't as easy as it used to be.
Despite fate throwing them a few curves there is nothing that can stop their love.
'A well-lived life is not only a one-of-a-kind art form, it's the one that I'm most excited to keep exploring. And more importantly, the one I'm most grateful to Fate for giving.'
I was given this book in turn for an honest review.
This novella is a lovely insight into June and Tucker, a few years after the end of Free-Form, (first book in the series) and how their relationship is as strong as ever. This story has a little angst, enough to keep you on your toes as to where the story is heading, however, Xavier Neal did not disappoint and delivered a beautiful insight into how all relationships have there moments of worry, stress and miscommunication!
June plans a little getaway, one to help them with finding their new path as their lives start to change and to finding a way of keeping all of those concerned happy. They show us that even billionaires have their moments of uncertainty and confusion, that no amount of money can give you the happiness you think it can, they like us, still have their hurdles to cross/fight and together they can, coming out strong than ever.
Free-Form does need to be read, before reading Free-Spirit to get the full enjoyment of June and Tuckers story. If you love Rom-Com insta-love stories, you will definitely love the Free Book series by Xavier Neal.
ARC review Tucker and June are back. This novella takes place about nine years after the extended version of Free-Form that was released last month. It’s kind of like an extended epilogue but there’s some drama. Our art-loving couple is now married with an adorable four year old who thinks he’s a magician. June’s still clumsy. They’re both still obsessed with art. And their little boy is both clumsy and obsessed with art. They’re on a vacation with Tucker’s mom, stepdad, and some other family members. Koose Koose the goose stayed home with his goosey wife. As much as they love each other, balance is hard. Work, marriage, parenthood, and personal time all factor in and what was working doesn’t feel like it is anymore. Especially with a big change coming their way. If you read Tucker and June’s book, you’ll enjoy this little glimpse into their future. It’s a quick read with a couple of spicy scenes.
This is a great summer novella! However, I highly recommend you read the first book of the series as you’ll get a full appreciation for June and Tucker. June is super loveable as a heroine and your heart will be filled with joy at how Tucker gives her the time, attention, appreciation, and love that she deserves. She’s always given so much of herself to her sisters and her job that she nearly became invisible. But with Tucker, she’s the center of his he[art].
If you’ve read the first book, then you will love where this picks up with June, Tucker, and their life as parents to Michelangelo “Lo”. He’s quite the handful for the parents as he’s inherited June’s uncanny ability to be a bit accident prone and Tucker’s wanderlust personality with a zest for adventure. June’s secret can create a major rift for their little family — one that they may not be able to get over.
I he[art] this couple!
I received a complimentary copy for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.
Free Spirit is the second book featuring Tucker and June from Free Form. While still a rom-com this novella offers an interesting and realistic view of what can happen inside a marriage after the happily ever after. There are real emotions, disagreements, and communication issues. Thankfully, Tucker, June and now their adorable little boy are still good for plenty of laughs as well with tripping hazards, geese, and more. No matter what, you can also count on Tucker and June to bring the spice when they get the opportunity!🔥🔥 Overall, it was a fun, fast-paced read about maintaining communication and keeping your love at the forefront of your mind.
I received an advanced review copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tucker, June, and Lo make three. Their canvas has become more colorful and bright, but things are about to shake their foundation. Tucker is happy with the life he and June have, but he starts making decisions that will affect the family without consulting June. June has a secret that she is trying to tell Tucker but is finding it hard to disclose until she does.
An enjoyable read and it was great seeing Flynn and Torrance grace the pages of this story. I have to say that I wanted to yell at Tucker and June. The characters were well-developed and Lo is aborable.
I received an advance reader copy of this book from the author. This review is purely from my perspective, and all opinions are my own. I am under no obligation to review the book.
Thanks to the author and DS book promotions for the eARC and chance to give my candid review.
Free-Spirit: A Free-Form Novella (The Free book 2) by Xavier Neal
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (0-5) Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 (0-5)
What I’m Starry-Eyed Over: 🤩 This was a cute epilogue type novella to Free-Form. Definitely read them together. 🤩 I liked the laugh-out-loud family canoeing adventure. 🤩 Lo is a cute addition to their family, a great mix of June and Tucker. They are both great parents. 🤩 I’m glad Tucker got some counseling and hope he continues.
What I’m Wishing/Dizzy About: 💫 Tucker is still not my favorite MMC—he’s needy, selfish, and immature. 💫 The descriptions of the steamy scenes just aren’t working on me—seeming more about juices flowing than arousal growing. 💫 See also my review of Free-Form for more details.
Tucker in June remain as one of my top favorite couples. I loved the original “FreeForm,” and I adored the updated version as well. Free Spirit was the perfect novella showcasing the future of June and Tucker. Happily in love, happily, married, and the sweetest little boy to complete the dual. Lo was the epitome of cuteness. He had Tucker’s spirit, June’s coordination, and both of their love for art. They seem happy and just as free spirited as always. However, we soon learned that June is pregnant, Tucker is anxious to explore the world again, and for once they are not on the same page. We experienced our first disagreement that turns out to be not such a little one! It’s a sweet story that brings us back to the lovers as they quarrel and make up proving love will never be lost between them!!
Tucker and June give us a deeper look at their lives several years later. Married, with a child and still very obsessed with art and everything. Right now they are on a vacation with Tucker’s mum, stepdad and some other family members. But life isn’t easy. June has a big secret she doesn’t find the right moment to spill. And Tucker has issues of his own with the actual situation. But with their very active and attention seeking boy, time for themself and discussions are rare. So mistakes and misunderstandings happen. June and Tucker have to have an important talk, before things could go south between them. They have to work it out because too much is on the line. But it wouldn't be them if they couldn’t work through it and make their happy end happen. A little novella about the very important thing in life, always communicate about everything to stay happy and make the other one happy too.
Love Love Love It!! I fell in love with June and Tucker's relationship in Free-Form, Free-Spirit has made that love grow. The way they communicate and their banter has always made me giggle. They truly are brought together by Fate! Now that they're married with one little one that is the perfect dose of them both, they've gotten a little sidetracked from their relationship. This book is a quick read and has a few spicy moments, but mainly focuses on how important communication is in marriage. It drives home the fact that having a relationship with your spouse and having time to yourself is important even when you have kids. It honestly hit so close to home that I think this is a book my husband should read.- Elizabeth
Book 2 of the Free Spirit series is a really cute, but somewhat angsty, novella that continues for June, Tucker, and their addition to the family, Michelangelo, aka Lo. This story takes place about nine years after book one and is a quick read. Usually, I like the male lead better than the female lead in Xavier Neal’s book, but it isn’t the case in this series. June is such a likeable person that I’d want to call her my friend if she were real. Tucker is charming and smart and talented, but he can’t seem to handle any wrenches thrown into his plans. Thankfully, June seems to be able to settle things down for everyone’s benefit. And little “Lo” is too smart for his own good. This family is going to have their hands full in the future and definitely lots of adventures together. I enjoyed spending more time with the Frosts and am hoping there will be more stories in the future.
This is the second book in The Free series. It is a quick read that takes place nine years after the first book, Free Form. I recommend reading the first book to appreciate this one. June and Tucker have a rich life that has come full circle. They live happily along with the addition of a precocious little boy, Michelangelo aka Lo, who is enthralled with magic and thinks he is a magician. What makes this book special is that it takes a look at what it takes to keep a marriage strong, and the work involved. Overall, this is one storyline about family, fun and the drama that ensues. If you are looking for something to put a smile on your face with a bit of spice, then this is one to add to your shelf.
A cute and emotionally charged novella that brings us back into the lives of June and Tuck and the new adventure they are about to begin. Tuck is planning a special family getaway while June has a little secret to share, when it all comes out things in their lives go a little array, but it doesn't take them long to get things back on track. Their approach to parenting, day to day life, and tackling unforeseen hurdles is not only admirable but wickedly entertaining!! I loved every minute of this little novella!! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
This was a fun, short read that allowed a glimpse into June & Tuckers life after their HEA and I really enjoyed it.
I think if you want an example of EXCELLENT communication between a couple, this is the short story to read. Ticket found himself in a bit of a rut, and when he overcame his usual tactic of running away, and opened up to June, it was such a good moment of communication.
There’s really great emphasis on being your own person, and having your own needs which are just as valid, when in a relationship/ family setting.
The fights between these two always give me butterflies but the reunion was just as great as the first book which pulled on my heart strings.
I think this was a great round off to June & Tuckers story and I would happily read more.
Love Love Love It!! I fell in love with June and Tucker’s relationship in Free-Form, Free-Spirit has made that love grow. It was so great to catch up with June and Tucker! This vacation of theirs was one for the memory books. Yes there was family time. Yes there was steamy moments. Yes there was hard conversations between the couple. Yes I was fully invested.
I love the fact that June hasn't changed one bit when it comes to her clumsiness or her getting tongue tied. Then there's little Lo, and he is just the perfect mix of his parents. He's definitely a little spit-fire and keeps them on their toes.
These follow up novellas that Xavier has been releasing are so enjoyable. I love being able to catch up with couples a few years down the road, and seeing how their lives have progressed.
A beautiful look into June and Tucker's HEA doing what relationships do. They got stuck in roles and didn't remember to take care of their canvas as individuals and as parents. It's hard to navigate sometimes when it's just two people. Add in a wonderful blended free spirit like Lo and stuff shifts . I love that we saw these moments and watched the navigate in the way that shows their love. Life is a work in progress and communication is key. I'm happy to see their love has grown and they finally fully communicated openly. Fear is a great cause of missing out.
Tucker and June's journey to exciting places to give their son a outlook of the world so his imagination can grow. While Tucker is speaking to a storekeeper adventurous Lo wanders off. After finding him with his new friend David Hopperfield they return home neglecting to tell June. After the outbursts, accusations and cooling down period they begin to talk about their feelings and emotions and how parenthood has changed them and what they need to do to make things better in their lives especially since there is another bun in the oven.
