Regaining his footing as a captain, Bennett Holt finds stepping into Jane Ables’ boots as leader of the battered schooner, Ferocious Pip, is easier than recovering his place as her lover.
Struggling with Jane’s grief, Bennett’s attempts to recapture her heart are bogged down by his need to once again strike a fearsome and respected image as a pirate of note. Progress on both is complicated by a strange, new man who has taken his place as Jane’s trusted confidante, and by unsettling rumors among the crew that flow like cheap liquor.
Jane feels the treacherous gulf between Bennett Holt and herself growing despite their finally being on the same ship once again. Their love is hanging in the silence of lost time, but with resentments so overwhelming and pain so heavy, Jane is anchored to her darkness and cannot seem to find the light Bennett once was to her.
Perhaps the wound in her heart that reopens every time she looks at him is too wide to heal, no matter how much she craves it.
Even as they sail to kill the man responsible for their rift, war has broken out in the eastern seas of Brighal as the sprawling fingers of the Goranese Empire seek more than they already possess.
With war comes prizes for the taking, and the crew of Ferocious Pip long to claim the life of the wicked naval captain, Galen Foley.
Sailing under the blue birds of the Goranese Navy on the warship Stalwart that would be too challenging to sink, even for the fabled pirates Jane Ables and Bennett Holt, Foley seems unreachable. With powerful allies from the east at his side, provoking Foley would surely be a death sentence.
With the desire for vengeance being something they still agree on, chasing Foley east feels like the only thing to do when Jane and Bennett aren’t sure they have anything left to lose.
Book 6 in the Silver Locket series by Kennedy Sutton, Blessed Gun gets us *that* much closer to our happy ending in book 7!
Jane and Bennett have to find their footing together again, after Bennett’s return. Zachary’s friendship with Jane becomes a point of contention. There are characters that finally get the karma they deserve. At 77% everyone was happy and everything looked lovely, so I knew something bad was going to happen. And it did. The proverbial crap hit the fan…. Just exploded. (IYKYK)
The ending isn’t a huge cliffy, but definitely leaves us wanting more and I can’t wait for the next and final book in the main series!!!

ARC received for an honest review. I loved this book much like I have the others in this series. This book picks up right where A Woman's Wail left off and I was on the edge of my seat between the fighting, love, forgiveness, making of new friends, revenge against old enemies and compassion for others. This book, like the others, is well written and is not lacking in details.(almost like Mrs Sutton herself lived the life as a pirate). I have fallen in love with the characters and can not wait for the next book. 5☆
Blessed Gun picks up after our reunion with Jane and Bennett. Although both of them are very happy to be reunited with each other, they both have their own scars and inner turmoil to cope with. Jane with her grief and anger, and Bennett whom is riddled with guilt.
I know I always say how impressed I am with Jane and her growth and every book, but that's because she continues to grow. I absolutely love seeing how far she has come with each addition to the series. how even though she shouldn't have to be strong all the time, she is. Even in her weakness she has strength. sometimes strength is just talking to somebody about what hurts you. opening up to someone can be as scary as a ship of blue birds.
But Jane isn't the only one with growth, we see Bennett opening up and overcoming his own demons. Hugh and Michael try to allow themselves to find happiness after loss and be okay with it. Hugh has a big place in my heart. he has such a capacity for love even though he comes off as rough and stern. I will fight for Hugh!
I seriously cannot get enough of this series. if you haven't started reading it yet, what are you waiting for? Kennedy Sutton has me in a chokehold with this series and I am 100% okay with it! Her storytelling skills are amazing! she has opened my eyes to a genre I never really considered reading. I've always enjoyed historical stories but I've never read a pirate one before. I am so glad I did! I look forward to every addition to this series and I will be very sad to see it end.

at this point I am convinced Kennedy Sutton could write a grocery list and if I read it...it would make me cry. There has not been a single book within the Silver Locket Series so far that I have not shed a tear over and Blessed Gun is no different.
with the way that the last book ended, Jane and her brother are left with conflicting feelings about staying the course they are on or letting it go. But honestly that is not the way of Jane Ables and we love her for it! when I tell you this book was filled with endless adventures and heart ache as . we also have the pleasure of crossing paths with Captain Li, it is never a dull moment when he is in the picture!
As much as it pains me to admit this is also the book that Hugh Digby wormed his way into my iced over heart. The way he opened his self up again after to Janes brother, gahhh it is with great reluctance that I say I maybe kind of like him now.
The ending...OMFGAHHHHH I was not expecting it but holy moly it was the most brilliant way for vengeance to be dealt! I know that this series has to end and that this book brings us one step closer to the ending of this series, but I could read about this crew forever!
Just when I think I cannot love this series and the characters any more, another book comes out and I'm immediately caught up in a world of pirates. This one is almost definitely my favorite book in the series though. There is love and revenge in equal measures and my heart is almost at peace with the journey Jane et al are taking.
I am so in love with all of the characters, even the ones I just love to hate (Li, I'm looking at you). Foley is probably the one exception, because I do just hate him with all my heart.
Gonna end the review here before I get into spoilers and end with: If you haven't started this series - do it. And be glad you didn't start from the beginning so the cliff hangers won't get you every book like they got me.
I couldn’t put this thing down Kennedy does it again in this whirl wind story!
Even though Ben and Jane have found each other once again they each fight demons that drive them further away from where they long to be. Each others arms, though they still can agree on one thing the destruction of Foley the man responsible for the unhappiness and heartbreak of so many. My beloved favorite character Hugh begins to find healing and peace in the company of Janes brothers Michael both men suffering the untimely loss of their beloved partners. As expected Kennedy kept me on my toes waiting for the stuff to hit the fan and lord it didn’t disappoint when the poo hit the fan it hit it hard!
Are you kidding? Another great addition to the Silver Locket series. It picks up right where we were left and jumps right into the deep end with our characters. The love. The angst. The fighting. The stubbornness. The vengeance.
I just *knew* we were going to be let off easy when such a good thing finally happened around the 85% mark. I knew the other shoe would drop and it sure did. My heart is aching right now and I wish I could read everything else these characters will go through until the end already!!
*Received this as an arc in exchange for my honest review.*
This is book 6 of 7 in Kennedy's pirate epic and it just gets better and better! It hit every point I was hoping it would and left me wondering over the fates of all these characters I've come to know and love over the course of 6 books. I can tell we're leaning toward the ending, but knowing this series, there is no way it will be over before it is over. There is always something dangerous right around the corner for this crew.
I'm so ready for book 7 so I can read them all again from start to finish!
Another Silver Locket masterpiece! I LOVED this book! Every book in this series is a wild emotional ride and Blessed Gun is no exception. Evocative and relatable, a story of healing, forgiveness, and revenge, Jane and her Captain continue on their journey together. But they must ask themselves if the query they seek is worth the price they will pay to find it. Cannot wait to own the whole series!
Another great story by Kennedy Sutton. She never fails to tug at my heartstrings with her stories. The struggles between Bennett and Jane in this book felt very real, that even though they are together again after their separation, things don't just go back to the way they were.
I need a happy ending for Zachary Cosper. And I think I missed having more time with Hugh and Michael on page with this book so I'm giving it 4.5/5⭐️

This is the continued story of Jane who portrays a notorious Pirate, grieving mother, steadfast friend and epic love. I have grieved and shouted for joy while traveling the high seas with Kennedy Sutton! I have Very few books that I have read more than once, however I have indulged in this series 3 times now. The world-build has completely engulfed my imagination, where colors bloom, the waves gently rock and a fiddle plays.
When determination runs out, fate intervenes. Blessed Gun is an ending and a new beginning just like many of the volumes of this series. This one has many twists and turns. The writing is so wonderful, easy to follow, and exciting that most times when a chapter ends, you must start the next one immediately so as not to miss a thing! I can't wait to see how this series caps off! I cruised through this installment and I'm be looking forward to book 7!
This one was my least favorite of the series (I loved all the other books so far). This one felt like not much happened until the end of the book. And there was some love triangle drama that I wasn't too fond of (can you call it a triangle if the love was unrequited?). There were moments of happiness that I really enjoyed, and it had some strong found family vibes which is one of my favorite tropes.
This one was just as much a roller coaster of emotions as every other book in this series. I laughed, I cried, I had multiple many heart attacks over the course of this book.
It picks up right where the last one left off. Jane and Ben have to find their new normal after everything they both have been through. And man is it a lot!!
Kennedy did amazing narrating as always! She has a way of bringing the story to life perfectly. You feel every part so intensely.
Just when I’m sitting here smiling thinking that everyone is getting their happy ending I start doubting myself because that’s not how these things normally go in this series. And lemme tell you that’s how things went. The first part of this book was a little slower for me than the others have been, but the end picked up. I’m ready to finish this series!
Many thanks to Kennedy Sutton for personally reaching out with an audio copy of her book in exchange for an honest review.
ARC received for an honest review. I love this series and this book does not disappoint. Beautifully picks up where the last book ended and had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next. Love, action, fights, acts of kindness all are here. I can’t wait for the next book.
If you've been around me for just a little bit, you know that I LOVE this pirate romantasy series. The author narrates it herself, and it is so good. I'm sad to know the series is almost over, but I can't wait to finish it up!
This is such a great addition to the series. This series genuinly has such a chokehold on me I can't even. The reunion and GAH I'm so excited for the 7th book I cannot contain myself!!!
Still brilliant, but just one star off for the fact that I felt like there were a lot of words spent in this book rehashing the events of previous books, which felt unnecessary.
So, I love this series. I think the author has done a great job creating layered flawed characters and great pirate adventures with romance and found family and I probably couldn't say enough to praise this series.
Blessed Gun picks up where A Woman's Wail left off. Our characters are reunited and having to navigate not only the high seas in close quarters of a smaller vessel, but the time apart, and new crew members and the bonds they have formed. Jane and her brother, Michael are set on revenge against Captain Foley for all the suffering he has caused them and those they love. And they are taking the captain and crew of Ferocious Pip east with them. But as they draw nearer to their goal, everyone is questioning if it's still what they want at all.
While some books in the series were action packed and had me on the edge of my seat, this one was quieter but no less impactful. You do get the sense this adventure is winding down with only 1 book left in the main series. It's the first one where I didn't cry at some point. And there were some happy (really happy) moments along with all the heartbreak.
Are you ready to embark on an unforgettable revenge journey across the high seas? Sutton's storytelling prowess shines as she balances pulse-pounding action with heartwarming moments of reconciliation. As you journey alongside Bennett and Jane, you'll find yourself cheering for their triumphs and holding your breath during their perilous encounters. We get to witness the struggle of Captain Bennett Holt try to reclaim his command and win back the heart of his beloved Jane Ables. Can you feel the tension crackling in the air as they sail towards their destiny and Janes revenge?
Jane and Ben are on another pirate adventure! The sixth book in the series and the high seas are still dangerous with lots of intrigue! Jane will no longer be captain of the ship and she and her brother still seek revenge. Will they go too far? Blessed Gun by Kennedy Sutton gets 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
