Asha Menon, is an eminent Malayalam writer and critic

Asha Menon’s original name is K. Sreekumar. A science graduate, Menon left his engineering studies midway to join the South Indian Bank as an officer. He took voluntary retirement from service to spend more time to pursue his creative interests.

Menon had close acquaintances with philosopher Guru Nitya Chaitanya Yati and writer O.V. Vijayan. His works Thanumanasi (1990), Jeevante Kayyoppu (1992), and Adarunna Kakkakal (1994), had won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi awards.

His major works are Puthiya Purusharthangal (1978), Kaliyugaranyakangal (1982), Parivrajakante Mozhi (1984), Prathirodhangal (1985), Herbarium (1985), Paragakoshangal (1997), Payaswini (1999), Krishnashilayum Himashirassum (2001), Khalsayude Jalasmrithi (2003), Sradhaswarangal (2006), Ilamulachikal (2007) and Oshovinte Neelanjarambu (2007).
