I really like Max and Mae but...

Max and Mae are great characters with lots of depth and personality, unfortunately their story is littered with typos and sentences that make no sense. For example:
* Every time Max talks about his Kookum we get (Grandmother)(Grandmother) after it. Why twice each time? And surely after the second or third time this was mentioned the reader is clever enough to know Kookum means Grandmother?
* At one point Mae becomes Mar
* When her dad died her mum and aunt tell her he had a stroke and it was peaceful, he just fell asleep. Later in the book she says he died of a widow maker heart attack - not peaceful with the chest pains, gasping for breath and sweating. Two very different deaths, so which was it?
And then the sentences that make no sense, here are a few:
* 'We were able to get everything settled. Roland helped me back for the cremation' Back? Back from where?
* 'If my free hand, I reach up and place my hand against her cheek' If? Or with?
* 'My mum says, her are wrapping around my middle' Should that be arms?
Having to go back and reread these sentences to try and work out what they should be disrupts the flow and spoils the enjoyment of what could be a really enjoyable book.
I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

I really enjoyed this biker romance. It's fast paced, flows nicely, and is easy to read. Mae is an exotic dancer, and when Max "Commando" sees her, it's love at first sight for him. They share an incredible chemistry that is out of this world. The spice and the chemistry balance out perfectly, and even though this is a short story, it's a really good one with a lot to offer.

Max “Commando” Sutcliffe Canadian Indigenous member of a NY MC, comes home because the local racist cops are trying to arrest him for something he didn’t do. (Hint, he isn’t called Commando because he’s indigenous). Like most bikers, he’s used to free reign on the women in the club, but his brothers have all started settling down and he’s watched their happiness.

Mae Ironside, needed money to pay for her father’s medical bills and to help her mom, so her Mom didn’t have to worry. Working as an exotic dancer at Club Curve, wasn’t how she saw her life/career going, beautiful curvaceous Mae, was all about self-empowerment and paying her own way.

I have to admit, this fairly short novella surprised me. It packed a lot in fairly quickly. Lafrance did an absolute incredible job of creating an entire world and cast of characters I could instantly buy into. Because it was a novella the character creation needed to be quick and tight, and it was. I haven’t read any of her previous books, but I didn’t feel any loss at all. I was able to feel like I fit right into the story seamlessly.

I especially like how Commando isn’t instantly some perfect alpha knight out to save Mae from some evil doer. He has some serious character flaws he needs to work on, and they almost cost him his girl.

Mae is absolutely bad***! She is take no prisoners, she knows what she wants, and even if it breaks her heart she is not going to settle for what she knows she deserves. I also love that she has her own people that have her back in making sure she gets what she deserves. That doesn’t mean Mae doesn’t have her own baggage, but she gets her HEA.

It’s a great book, I was super happy with this sweet, snarky and steamy read!

Commando

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
J.A. Lafrance tends to write novels about strong women, but I don't think any have been as strong as Mae Ironside.
I don't think Commando has any idea what he's in for. The woman has put every rude dude she's come across in his place.
I love how JA Lafrance brings other cultures and countries into her novels and doesn’t discriminate. She clearly does her research!
The epiloge.....OMG it gave me goosebumps all over, I wasn't expecting that, tissues may be required.

Commando is a fast pace biker romance story written by J.A. Lafrance. This is Max “Commando” Sutcliffe ( Crowns of Chaos MC ) & Mae Ironside story. She's an exotic dancer at Club Curve and when Maxx see her show at Club Curve he fells in love at first sight. Their chemistry is off the charts! The perfect mix between romance and spice. I love the secondary characters in their story, as well. Would recommend. Will read more from this author.

Okay

This book was okay, there was quite a bit that annoyed the hell out of me. I did love how powerful the women are in this, but the story jumped around a lot. Plus most the guys included the main male character just came off kind of douchy

I really like Max and Mae. I tried really hard to like the book and it has a lot of potential. I definitely don’t judge a book on the errors until they become extremely too much. The book jumps around and it there are parts that do not make sense

He was not a nice guy and she was very weak in comparison to the others books of this series. The club was a curvy lady place and in this was a place of a "fight" between a curvy and two skinny women.

I love the concept of this story. I like the easy way between Max And Mae. I do wish the story was fleshed out at the ending. It seemed choppy and needing more dialog. Over all its a good story!
