This anthology consists of the papers presented at the International Ethnomusicologist's Conference held in Vilnius, Lithuania, on December 1-3, 1994. The conference and this volume is dedicated to Jadvyga Čiurlionytė, founder of Lithuanian School of Ethnomusicology. The Conference focused on topics as typological classification of tunes and advanced systems for arranging folklore stocks. Scholars from Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Lithuania, Norway share their knowlidge there. This anthology is like a first attempt to internationalize the Lithuanian ethnomusicologal thought and activities in favour of better understanding and cultural enrichment of different nations.
