Adriaan van Dis is a Dutch writer, journalist and TV presenter, who debuted as writer in 1983 with the novel Nathan Sid. That same year he debuted as a TV presenter as host for the book talkshow Hier is... Adriaan van Dis. The show lasted until 1992 and was repeated once in 2013 in honor of the Dutch book week and every year since, once a year during the Dutch book week. In 2017 he said that it was the last show unless he would be able to get a very special writer in the programme.
