The highly successful" Complete A+ Guide to PC Repair" by Cheryl Schmidt focuses on hardware and basic networking and is intended for one or more courses geared toward A+ Certification (Core Exam) and computer repair hardware and basic networking. Topics include the motherboard, system configuration, disassembly/reassembly, memory, floppy and hard drives, multimedia devices, video and more. This book is not only the ultimate tool for for receiving A+ certification, but it will help the reader on the job as well.
While this book does contain a lot of useful information, the book itself is poorly written and edited, with contradictory material and confusing or ambiguous phrasing. It also shows the fact that it has been extensively revised by a sloppy editor. The hands on exercises are useful though. It is also extremely over priced.
