Get the tissues ready guys this one pulls at your heart strings in the best of ways

This book centers around the second chance to,mace love story of Charlie and Carter who met in high school and started dating after. There was a horrific accident and Carter was left with some memory loss.

Fast forward ten years and now there is Preston a remarkable child with a resonating accurate portrayal of a child with autism. Carter walks back into her life unexpectedly and their romance rekindles into a sweet love story for the ages.

Note- there is an alternate ending that takes a darker path I was all in my feels so I went with the lighter adaptation.

This author has some truly emotionally impactful writing. This for me was a solid 4 ⭐️read and while there is I think one open door spicy scene it’s fairly tame and the others are fade black so I would give this a 1🌶️

Charlie is a single mom raising her son Preston, who has autism. Life isn't easy, but Charlie has a solid support system and lots of routines to help Preston live the best life she can provide. Everything changes when Carter walks into the diner where she works, seeking answers about his - and their- past.

Ten years prior, Carter was in a motorcycle accident and lost all memory of his life with Charlie. To make matters worse, Charlie never got the opportunity to apologize to Carter for a mistake she'd made. She has spent the last 10 years trying to let him go, but he was the love of her life.

Their chemistry is instant, and what's even better is the bond Carter quickly forms with her son. But as they grow closer and Charlie helps Carter piece together his past, she feels a constant guilt about not telling him everything. And she has a big secret she's keeping from him.

If you like second chance romances I highly recommend this book. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down. It was well written with a feel-good ending. There is an alternate ending with a darker twist, but I'm going with the nicer one. I also enjoyed the autism representation and how accurately Preston's stims and quirks were portrayed. Most of us who live life with a child with autism will see ourselves in some capacity here, and the acceptance of Preston was so refreshing.

There was one detailed spicy scene but it wasn't obscene, and the rest were fade to black, so if romance without smut is what you prefer you'll like this one. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.

I read this book as part of a traveling book club and was pleasantly surprised. I will say it isn’t something I would have normally chosen for myself. Small town, second chance romance. Closed door spice. So if you are looking for low to no spice this will be right up your alley. Does have an alternate ending which was a different twist. If your If your looking for HEA and low emotional damage I would definitely stick to the first ending. As always make sure you are comfortable with what you are reading. Happy Reading💜

This book had so much potential! The plot was good and the characters were so lovable. I honestly don't think the relationship between Preston and Carter could have been any better. My biggest thing was that this book just needed better editing as it had a lot of typos and several instances of the point of view randomly changing from sentence to sentence.
