Organizations turn to OPM3® because it helps them bridge the gap between strategy and individual projects, and provides a way to advance strategic interests through the application of project management principles and practices. Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3®) – Third Edition is the result of years of development and continues to build on the foundation formed by the input of hundreds of project management practitioners and consultants from countries around the world.
I find this book (just like the rest of PMI’s standards) a very important reference for those wishing to acquire the “text book” knowledge, and very important for certification purposes. But if you are looking for practical knowledge, and details on how to implement OPM3 on your organization, or on clients, then I recomend other books like “Every Organization can implement OPM3″. Hope this helps. Certified OPM3 Consultant.
When you have good concepts and approaches and how to destroy their value to readers who purchased this to be challenged and learn something. Could have been cut down by 70%. Do not recommend as a tool to learn.
