Several hours after reviewing this album in the car, I am still singing "Down by the Bay."

A joyful classic for children, the songs featured on this album have become timeless and as comforting, much in the way of Mr. Rogers. The songs are catchy, simple and about familiar things. Perfect to sing along to,I even found myself, an adult, compelled to sing along. In this complex world, the simple joy of a Raffi song brings simple fun back to childhood.

Yes, the songs are a bit repetitive for adults, and the folk style might seem a bit dated, but this seems to be a perfect mix for the young child. Today's young child might seem more sophisticated than the folk child of the 1970's however, the rhythms and rhyme are still appealing. Perfect for a Mr. Sun-ny day trip to the zoo to eat peanut butter sandwiches.
