A Samba for Sherlock Holmes By Jo Soares takes place in 1886 in Rio de Janeiro. The story opens wuth the theft of a stradivarius violin given by the Emperor of Brazil to his favorite mistress. Sarah Bernhardt has arrived to perform in the city while on a South America tour. Sherlock Holmes is asked to come and solve the crime of the missing violin and Dr. Watson accompanies him. A series of grisly murders of young women has shocked the city and Sherlock takes on the hunt for the murderer and coins the phrase, "serial killer." The murders are too macabre for me and too much information about citizens of Rio is forced on the reader.

O li há muito tempo, ainda adolescente. É um livro de humor e nunca imaginei que poderia me divertir desta forma. Mas não consigo me lembrar muito da história em si e como ela se estrutura, só posso garantir que me fez rir.
