This has got to be one of my favorite craft/mixed media books. It is loaded with 200 wonderful ideas paired with colorful pictures. It touches base with everything you can think of to do with paper, fabric and other materials such as stone, glass, wax, twigs and so on. You get the idea.
The one downside is because it covers so much, the detail with each project is minimal. It is a resource for those that are looking for something new to try. Perhaps you are in a creative slump. Maybe you see something in your stash of supplies and want to work with it but don't know what to do. Or you have a new tool with directions but you want to use it for something else.
Like the cover says at the bottom, this is "beyond marbling and sponge painting". It is not the be-all-and-end-all of taking various elements and making art but it is a good beginning. Use the book for jump-starting an unfinished piece that you have set aside. Peruse the book when you are bored but are looking for something new to try. Then, after you have found that 'something', head to Youtube and see if someone else has expounded on that craft. Or try your local library for a book that goes into more detail on that particular idea.
