A fairly good, thorough sewing reference book. Unfortunately, it only ever seems to have been available as a cheap mass-market paperback.

Sewing is such a meditative art. Let me just quote Mager.
There is definitely such a thing as fitting too much, being too critical, and forgetting that a certain fullness may be part of the design. Don't fit yourself when you are in a tense mood, ready to pick on anything and everything. Approach fittings in a relaxed frame of mind and don't change things on the spur of the moment. Words of wisdom in so very many ways.
And if you need to decide between silk bias, boudoir, paper, pleated, or gathered for your lampshade, this book is totally here for you. *swoons*
