A fun little whodunnit, set in and around Paris. Inspector Pinaud is called to the country home of his superior, who went out for a walk one evening and came back to find the new maid he was screwing around with bludgeoned to death in his bed. Or is he really trying to cover up his own perverse excesses? Could his lovely young wife have come home unexpectedly and murdered her most recent rival? Could his wife's aristocratic uncle have had the girl murdered and his erring nephew-in-law framed to avenge his long-suffering niece? Monsieur Pinaud will sort it all out before he drives back to Paris. Sort of sub-Simenon, but still not bad.

Synopsis: Inspector Pinaud's superior calls him to investigate the murder of his new maid and girl friend. This could be interesting.
