Three and a half stars. Well done recounting of the crimes of a child rapist. Some reviewers say this crime has been debunked and that no child abuse happened. I could find no online information indicating might be the case.

I was bored during the trial recap portion of the book but there was a lot of information about prosecuting cases like this that kept me reading. I have deep respect for Janet Reno who recognized the need to treat these very small children properly during trial prep and during the trial. The goodness and purity of Joseph and Laurie Braga and their handling of the children might be the only reason this monster could be prosecuted and imprisoned.

This book recounts the Arvida Country Walk Daycare case. The Arvida community is in south Florida. I was attending law school at the University of Miami as the prosecution was developing its case. My Criminal Procedure class had the honor to work this case with the Miami Dade prosecutor’s office.

From this monster’s first marriage to a 14 year old girl till he was finally jailed he destroyed dozens of lives, including his way too young wife and his son’s life. He is evil personified

I originally read this book about 20 years ago, and it was just as horrifying this time around. Such a disturbing story about child sexual abuse - such tiny victims! Boggles the mind that there are such evil people in the world.

this book was devastating, horrific and unspeakable... a most appropriate title... it was excellent. But not for the faint of heart, of those with queasy stomachs... I got my degree in psych w/an emphasis on child abuse so there was not much I'd not seen or read - but when I read this - it was the first time what I was reading affected my interactions with others... again, excellent, unspeakable.
