This is a remarkable book written in language that a seven or eight year old child will understand and is made even better by excellent art.’

The story focuses on a sister and brother who are placed in a foster home “just for a while” when their absence from school brings them to the attention of child protective services. Their mother is a drug addict who had left them alone.

The role of foster parents, volunteer guardian ad Litem, and the courts is presented in positive events.

A child bewildered by the prospect of foster home placement would treasure this gentle book.

This is an amazing book created for children who happen to come into "the system" of foster care. The terms such as 'lawyer' is explained in simple terms. This is highly recommended for all children, but especially those who are troubled by having to leave a parent.
