I was given an ARC of Bridge of Eternity for an honest review.

Amelia Cole's debut is everything a fan could wish for that is looking for action-packed fantasy based on mythology with just the right amount of romance. Ella is a great main character, and is stubborn and impulsive, which gets her into trouble, but her heart is in the right place. I loved how she really is her own worst enemy, but she refuses to back down no matter what. The chemistry between Ella and Jason (her ex-boyfriend/secret agent) is great and I enjoyed their intense moments where they tried to make amends. The Mesopotamian mythology magic system is intriguing and at times it felt very reminiscent of Tomb Raider or Indiana Jones. Highly recommend if you're looking for a fun and fresh urban fantasy!

In Amelia Cole's "Bridge of Eternity," the captivating urban fantasy novel introduces readers to Ella Dawson, a determined female protagonist who unexpectedly stumbles upon a peculiar package containing a mysterious statue.

Against her better judgment, Ella chooses to keep the statue to herself, unwilling to share it with anyone else. However, when she finds herself in need of assistance, her reliance falls solely on Jason, the one person she can trust. Although there was a time when Ella held deep affection for Jason, their relationship took a different turn.

What truly resonated with me was Taamir's heartwarming family dynamic. The author skillfully crafts a captivating backdrop, enhancing the overall experience. The cast of characters is intriguing, and the narrative has left an indelible mark on my memory. I am thrilled to have read this book, as the story maintains a perfect pace, ensuring an engaging read throughout, free from any dull moments.

Ella is a photojournalist who stumbled upon an ancient statue. Enheduanna, the High Priestess of the Temple of Ur, Daughter of King Sargon of Akkad informed Ella that she is now the guardian of the Bridge of Vela. It's the duty of Ella to guard the bridge in order to save the world.

There are very few books that have the power to capture the reader's attention from the first page itself. Bridge of Eternity penned by the author Amelia Cole is one such book. Ella Dawson is a photojournalist. She got her hands on a mysterious package inside which was a statue of a Mesopotamian goddess.

Ella found new powers and that came from the statue. Ella noticed a light coming from the statue. She must learn many things to save the world. How will Ella perform as a guardian?

Get to know by reading this adult urban fantasy novel yourself. The title of the book couldn't have been better than this. The cover photo is wonderful. I had a great time reading this book. The author has done fantastic work in this book. I am curious to read the next book in the series. Looking forward to it.

Bridge of Eternity written by the author Amelia Cole is an adult contemporary fantasy inspired by Mesopotamian mythology. The story features a photojournalist named Eleanora Dawson. She received a call from her sister regarding her marriage. It isn't easy to see your younger sibling getting married before you. Ella had her best chance last summer but it didn't end as a happily-ever-after.

Ella is a workaholic. As a photojournalist, her responsibility is only to observe, capture and report. Her mind however works as a spy. She couldn't sit idle after learning about the chances of an attack. Ella once found a crate in which she was expecting either cash or drugs but to her surprise, she found a small bronze statue.

Ella noticed a glowing light from the statue. What will happen next? It was interesting to see her in a different world. Enheduanna, High Priestess of the Temple of Ur, Daughter of King Sargon of Akkad told Ella that she is where she wants her to be.

Read this exciting story that kept me engaged till the last page. Amelia's writing style is different. She has used a good vocabulary in her book. The fantasy world is described nicely. Overall, I enjoyed this contemporary fantasy.

Those who are fans of fantasy fiction can explore the works of the new author Amelia Cole. This book has multiple genres involved. One would find action, mythology, adventure, fantasy, romance, etc.

Ella is the center of the story and a character that would impress you within seconds. Once, she found a bronze statue and she had to keep the news secret. There is only one person whom Ella could trust. He is her ex-lover Jason. The chemistry between Jason and Ella is what I loved the most.

A huge responsibility was given to Ella. In order to save the world, she was chosen as the guardian of the Bridge of Vela. The fate of Ur is in the hands of Ella. She needs to make wise decisions for the world and its people.

Overall, this is an impressive debut with its unique narrative approach and compelling characters. This book is a must read for anyone who is seeking an escape from reality into the fantasy world. Great work by the author in her debut book.

Eleanora Dawson is a photojournalist. She is a strong female protagonist with a curious mind and a good heart. Even though something isn't her responsibility, Ella jumps into it to do good for others.

One day, she found a bronze statue and noticed later that there was a light coming from it. Ella was chosen to be the guardian of the Bridge of Vela. Enheduanna, High Priestess of the Temple of Ur, Daughter of King Sargon of Akkad informed Ella what is expected from her.

Ella told her ex-lover Jason that she never wanted to be a protector of a bridge. She only wanted to take pictures, help people and buy a beach house. Read this fantasy fiction yourself to know about the adventures of Ella in protecting the world and the bridge.

The cover photo of the book is designed nicely. The world building and the backdrop setting is impressive. Ella and Jason's characters are my favorite from the story. Looking forward to reading the next book by the author.

This may have been a wonderful plot line, but it also has some very serious plotting issues. It also has some very serious writing issues. My major complaint is that the author could not keep her pronouns straight. One minute I was reading first person singular, and thirty seconds later, the author switched to the third person singular. This left me confused and constantly backtracking to see if I was just confused. With this sort of confusion, I feel that I can't finish this book. I'm giving this a 2-star rating instead of a one because the book may get better, or it may just be a VERY late editing issue that needs to be taken care of.

The plot of this story is terrific. However, there are significant issues with the writing. There are places where characters end up places without explanation. Also, there are jumps from first person to third person in the same paragraph and it can be very confusing. Since the story is so interesting, hopefully a new edit will take care of any issues and a new edition can be released.

Bridge of Eternity is a fun start to the Vela series. Cole takes the reader through a fantasy journey while staying grounded in real world issues that make the novel feel very relevant. Readers can expect to be taken for a ride through exciting action scenes, thrilling romantic tension, and a healthy dose of sass from the main character.

I am very picky about the books I read. This was a winner! Heart stopping thriller. Loved Ella, loved the history interwoven in this story. A mixture of serious adventure, hateable bad guys, romcom, action scenes, believable magic. You won't be able to put this down!

Story is ok, needs some serious editing. Not sure I will go for book #2. It is very jarring to run into such jarring issues as you read.

This one started out well and I was immediately engrossed, but it got really confusing. I’m not sure if the printed book is the same as the digital, but the editor didn’t catch that the author changed from third person to first person when writing because it would change mid sentence, which was confusing and annoying since I would have to reread it to figure out what just happened. There were also a lot of times that it looked like a sentence was complete but it would randomly stop mid sentence and never complete the thought. And at the end someone who died suddenly comes back but also still seems to be dead, so I’m not sure if the author changed her mind but parts were accidentally left in from whatever she originally intended. Also, for me, there was zero redemption for the MMC. It seemed like the author tried to tie it up really quick, but for me, the stuff he did wasn’t justified and I really didn’t like him. I would definitely read it again with the physical book to see if most of the things that were wrong with it in the digital edition are fixed in the physical.
***update***
I got a physical copy of the book and it had all the same issues which is really disappointing.

This contemporary fantasy is great for those who like mythology and stories like Indiana Jones that deal with ancient artifacts. The book has a great balance between romance and action that kept things moving along and me on the edge of my seat eager to see what happens next. The romance is cute with great chemistry. I recommend this to those looking for a contemporary fantasy with adventure, romance, and mythology.
