City on the Currents

The animals are getting smarter. The ants have learned how to take out entire settlements in a single night. As Mother Nature closes in on humanity's remnants, a vital piece of technology is stolen from Compton Pit. Five people set off in pursuit, desperate to recover the item before knowledge of its existence draws every gun from miles around. Where is the third in the trilogy. So good

This is the second book in a trilogy by Brian S. Matthews. This one was not as good as his first but I have been eagerly awaiting the third installment for almost 2 years! I can't wait to see what happens to the characters.
