from the back "The second edition of A Structured Approach to Programming considerably expands the material in the popular first edition. The design portion now includes Data Flow Diagrams, or Bubble Charts, as a preliminary step to design. It shows how to use them to create a hierarchy chart of modules. Module design has been enhanced with information on Binding and Coupling considerations. These are used to insure the design of independent, well structured modules that will be easy to test and maintain, and more likely tobe reusable in other programs. Two new language chapters have been added to show structured programming techniques for PASCAL and C programming languages. These complement the existing chapters on PL/I and COBOL, the latter having been revised to include new language additions for structured programming. Other improvements include additional material in the Testing chapter, more on Studbs in the Top Down Development chapter, and the inclusion of Inspect
