Foundations of Materials Science and Engineering

Rate this book
This book is designed to serve as a text for a first course in materials science and engineering for engineering students. It is an expanded version of the author's Principles of Materials Science and Engineering, 2d edition, with a rearrangement of the chapters.

Over 350 problems from the older book have been changed or modified and many new problems have been added. Thus this book can serve as a replacement for the Principles of Materials Science and Engineering text if new problems for the students are desired.

I just loved glancing through the book. I found William Callister very tough and confusing when i was recommended this book by my Prof.K.Murali. This book is a basic must read one for all who take up GATE Materials Science as it helps you to gain some knowledge apart from clearing the exam. Special mention must be made to the chapters on Mechanical Properties of Matter.
