A useful tool in my learning experience. I would get the general overview in class, do exercises, and have homework to practice on as well. But I thought the labs in this book did a good job of providing an overview of all that we had learned in the chapter, as well as quizzing us on it. This isn't saying that I was exactly thrilled doing the labs before each exam, just that I thought it was helpful. I would recommend if you were studying spanish.
