The book not only for the fanatics of forecasting and foresight

If you copy with forecasting or foresight and name Olaf Helmer you nothing says you absolutely need to fill gaps in your knowledge. If you know who he was Olaf Helmer, and "Looking Forward" you have not read, you have to make up for it.

Why I encourage you to read texts written in the middle of the last century? For two reasons.
Firstly, because of the figure of the Olaf Helmer, methodologist of forecasting techniques, known mostly from the pioneering development of the Delphi method, as well as the creator of cross-impact analysis. Heritage Olaf Helmer, associated among other things with the Rand Corporations, UCLA, or the Institute for the Future is encoded on a permanent basis in the work of thousands of forecasts and foresights.
Secondly, because of the incredible content of the book. Despite a breath of time, surprisingly there are many accurate observations, comments and tips. "Looking Forward" is undoubtedly a classic of the genre. The book, which gives an overview on how to develop forecasting methods, which is their source and the direction of development.

The book consists of articles and declassified works by Olaf Helmer. In addition to the layers of the theoretical and normative publication contains a number of interesting case studies of methods developed by the author.
