The Wilderness - Part One: The Old Man
After the loss of his beloved wife, Mahkel found himself nearing the end of his own everything around him reminded him of her, and an existence without her gave him little else to live for. That is, besides the urge.
His interest in the intricate dreams of a darkness-filled forest coincided with the undeniable allure he had in the dense clouds that loomed in the distance; the feeling that pulled him towards their haunting uncertainty was enough to convince him to leave the security of his home for one last adventure into the unknown, deformity and all. Once into the space, he found himself the target of vile monsters and hideous beasts, and doing everything in his power to survive.

I feel like I’m playing an rpg while reading this one. Lots of activity and suspense and great descriptions of the action. This author isn’t afraid to go outside the norms of writing and keeps the characters interesting. Will recommend this one to friends.

Interesting moments, especially when Makhel was in the tomb with Tobias. The tension was palpable.
