This is just an accumulation of facts about this great sculptor, illustrated with images of his work, himself, and his family. The writing seems a bit stilted, but this seems to be one of a style of children’s books. I don’t know what other children’s books there are about Calder, but I hope they are more imaginatively conceived and executed than this one, and a tribute to the artist. The book does refer to his fascination with the circus—for another treatment of this aspect of Calder’s work, see Maria Kalman‘s ROARR.
