Robert Schlegel weaves elements of deceit, treason, murder, combat and sexual content into a contemporary story involving the calculated theft of several tactical nuclear missle warheads from a Russian weapons depot. The weapons are to be ransomed to the highest bidder by a clandestine criminal organization. Thomas Slaton, a covert agent for a very private intelligence agency, with the cover of a wealthy Key West private investigator, is tasked to recover the weapons. Ironically, while this disaster is developing, Slaton’s former sister-in-law heads to Key West for protection and to hide from her hunters. The very criminals who masterminded the nuclear weapons theft have targeted her for assassination on an unrelated event, which threatens their anominity. Utilizing the services of the Navy, Navy SEALS and Marine Corps Air, Slaton mounts a secret mission into Cuba where the weapons were sent. His time frame for the recovery is rather narrow. The leader of the criminal organization has threatened to detonate one weapon near the Dry Tortugas to prove his insane resolve in obtaining the ransom.
