Gunner Mathias is trying to come to terms with a life-changing injury that ended his career as a Navy SEAL. While at a retreat at Hope House on Lantern Beach, he hopes to heal so he can move forward with his life. The last thing he expects is to run into a woman he once rescued.
Noelle Purdy wants to use her expertise as a scientist for the betterment of others. Someone sinister has other plans. When a masked man attempts to abduct her, a stranger jumps in to help . . . only he’s not a stranger. He’s a hero from her past, someone she’s never forgotten.
Gunner and Noelle didn’t think they’d ever see each other again. But now long-dormant secrets have been resurrected, and Noelle is the only one who can stop the grave danger soon to be unleashed. Can Gunner and Noelle overcome old wounds in order to protect everything they love? Or will trouble from their past destroy them both first?
Christy Barritt is an author, freelance writer and speaker who lives in Virginia. She’s married to her Prince Charming, a man who thinks she’s hilarious—but only when she’s not trying to be. Christy’s a self-proclaimed klutz, an avid music lover who’s known for spontaneously bursting into song, and a road trip aficionado. She’s only won one contest in her life—and her prize was kissing a pig (okay, okay… actually she did win the Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Suspense and Mystery also). Her current claim to fame is showing off her mother, who looks just like former First Lady Barbara Bush When she’s not working or spending time with her family, she enjoys singing, playing the guitar, and exploring small, unsuspecting towns where people have no idea how accident prone she is.
Another FANTASTIC, Action-Packed, Suspenseful Drama set on the sweet little island of Lantern Beach. It seems like every time Police Chief Cassidy Chambers turns around, there’s another crazy, life-threatening issue happening on her precious island. Can she figure out what is happening before any more individuals die? Will Gunner be able to save Noelle again and finally keep her from harm? This story will keep you reading way too late at night because you have to know what is really going on and who the bad guys truly are. However, be warned, you won’t be able to figure it out until the very end. Wow! Hold onto your seat because this is quite a ride! I’ve said this before, but I have to repeat it because it’s so true! Christy Barritt is a truly gifted author, as you feel every emotion these characters experience. Her books are always full of suspense, action, twists, and turns. This one is no different. It is so suspenseful, I had no idea which person was the genuine bad guy. I’m still not sure they got all of them. Could there be more? I received this book from the author, which did not influence my review in any way; all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
We're back in Lantern Beach and once again trouble is brewing.
This time the newest scientist, Noelle, is in trouble again. Two years earlier she was kidnapped and taken to Russia where she rescued by Navy Seal, Gunner Mathias and his team. Unfortunately for Gunner the mission ended badly.
Now they are both in Lantern Beach and danger is closer than ever.
The action was great and I loved the dynamics between Gunner and Noelle. I enjoyed watching how Gunner grew in his faith and came to terms with his injuries.
I'm looking forward to what's next.
Disclaimer: I did receive the book from the author but was under no obligation to provide a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
A Navy seal comes comes to the rescue of damsel in distress twice and finds love.
Enjoyed being back in Lantern Beach again. Gunnar and Noelle story was exciting from start to finish. Gunnar became Noelle hero once again. Both of them needed each other. They had a great support system in Cassidy and Ty and the rest of the Blackout crew. They were dealing with some evil men. Hope they can find out what happening at the lab on the island that causing so much unease. Looking forward to the continuance of Brandon and Finley story. Hope we get back to Vanishing Ranch soon to with more happening there.
This was a great read set in Lantern Beach. A former Seal who not only lost a couple of teammates but also part of his leg, Gunner is in Lantern Beach. There he reconnects with Noelle, a scientist whom he and his teammates had rescued a couple of years ago. As Noelle is being targeted, it may have to do something with her past when she and a few colleagues were kidnapped but she can't recall the details much to her frustration. Gunnar struggles with pain and his prosthesis and has drifted away from his faith in God. Will he return to God or not? This mystery was enjoyable. The plot line was awesome and so were the characters.
I had an Advance Readers Copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Gunner Matthias spent time at Hope House on Lantern Beach recovering from a traumatic experience and isn’t ready to leave. Dr Noelle Purdy is working on Lantern Beach and has wondered what happened to Gunner after his team rescued her. As her former captors approach her to return to finish what they want from her, Gunner helps her avoid them. As they work together, they become closer, and Gunner begins to heal and accept his new role in life. A great story and addition to this series. The themes include faith, acceptance of limitations, and fighting evil.
Be warned - you will not put this book down once you start reading! This story focuses on Gunner and Noelle who happen to be on Lantern Beach at the same time. Not unusual except for the fact that Gunner rescued Noelle when he was a Navy Seal. When it looks like Noelle is threatened again, Gunner feels that he must protect her, even though he is not physically the same as he was then. Very contemporary story and brings up possibilites that are a little scary about possible threats. I received an advance copy of this from the author but all opinions are my own.
Gunner Mathias, an injured former Navy SEAL, faces reverberations from a past mission. Dr. Noelle Purdy, a scientist who had been rescued during that fateful mission now turns up in Gunner’s life again. Coincidence or fate? The duo must try to stop the plot to harm the world with too much uncertainty for the path ahead to be clear. The exciting tale takes readers through the highs and lows of emotions in this suspenseful mystery. Another Barritt winner! I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.
Christy Barritt has done it again. Her heroes and heroines come from varied backgrounds and have widely divergent back stories, but Christy pulls it all together every time. This time a wounded ex-SEAL and a woman he rescued two years prior meet again on Lantern Beach. Both have trust issues so it is hard to get past those barriers...until Noelle is kidnapped AGAIN, and Gunner overcomes his own misgivings about his ability now that he has a prosthesis. Very good book.
Christy Barritt writes the most fiendish scenarios to have the evil ones perform. Another scientist from the new cosmetics laboratory is being hunted down by men that held her captive in Moscow for two years. Gunner was part of a Seal team who rescued Noelle then. What do they want with her? Gunner lost half his leg then. He is so discouraged, but Ty's Hope House helps him. But will he be able to help Noelle as she doesn't know what they Russian men want with her. Christy Barritt is a master of intrigue with a helping of God's plans.
I enjoyed this thrilling installment of Christy Barritt's Lantern Beach Exposure Series, full of international espionage and consequences, old acquaintances, and romance. I appreciate the focus on former military and the wound (seen or unseen) they may face when settling back into civilian life. The story of Noelle reuniting with the hero of her past, and her part in helping him heal, was very rewarding. As usual, the book was full of "I didn't see that coming" moments, and kept me guessing. I received a free coy of this book from the author, but my opinions are my own.
Noelle just wants peace in her life…. Gunner is still bitter over the Op gone wrong that took his leg and killed two of his friends. Gunner is trying his best but can’t seem to find any self-worth… Noelle is walking the beach trying to make sense of things when out of no where she is attacked. Screaming once, will anyone hear? Gunner is just stepping on the sand sees what is happening but doesn’t know if he’s capable or not. Then he realizes he has to step in to try at least….
Troubled Graves is one of my favorite books in this series. The main characters, Gunner and Noelle, meet in unusual circumstances and then reunite two years later in unusual circumstances again. The continuous action throughout the book is exciting. I love the way the author has described these two characters to the point that you know them very well and want the very best for them. I would highly recommend this book.
This book did not disappoint me. As with the 3 books previously in this series, always keeping you reading. I read the book in one day, can’t wait for the next one. Mystery, romance, beach setting, you just can’t beat that. Good Christian theme is really good in the day we live in.
Had met before and when Noelle had been kidnapped in Hawaii. Gunner lost two men and he lost part of one of his legs. They hadn’t seen each other in years until Gunner came to get help from Ty and his group. An awesome mystery began. You can’t put the book down. Enjoy.
Great suspense, well-rounded characters and a redemptive, inspirational storyline combine into a fantastic read by Christy Barritt. I recommend reading the previous three books in the series, but it is not required.
I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.
Noelle thought a new job and location would erase the past but the past appeared there as well. Gunner is trying to find his direction from his life changing events is Lantern Beach the answer? Together they have lots to figure out. The mysteries just keep coming in each book of this series.
For the first time ever, I was disappointed in a book by Christy. Not as well written as I've come to expect. She is a very prolific writer, so maybe she pumped it out too fast this time. It didn't flow as well as it normally does. The characters didn't seem as real as normal. Another go at editing is called for.
My thoughts: Troubled Graves is a new book by prolific author Christy Barritt. This one kept me guessing as to who-dun-it, I never would have guessed. Mr Barritt pens a fast paced book that keeps the reader guessing. You will want to read this whole series. Free on kindle unlimited. Grab a copy today. I was given a copy free and sll opinions are my own.
Another exciting read. Noelle and Gunner cross paths again after two years coincidentally and are roped into a new terror related to their shared past meeting. Brilliant story.
Christy has done it again. From cover to cover it’s not easy to put down for a second. I always love Christys’ style and humor mixed in with the stories
Christy Barritt is one of my favorite authors. I love all of the Lantern Beach Mysteries and the rest of her books. For a pleasant, easy read, I can highly recommend her books!!
This latest book in the Lantern Beach Exposure Series is excellent. Whenever Barritt does a series, each book in the series gets better and better. This novel is gripping and nail biting and pages that cannot turn quickly enough. I highly recommend it
As always, Christy Barritt never disappoints. This is another great book in the series and can't wait to read the next book in this series. I love every book I have read by Christy Barritt.
Once again, Christy Barrett has created a powerful and intense mystery laced with an edge-of-your-seat romance. I can never put them down until I have finished them!
Once again Christy Barritt has given her readers another outstanding installment to this series. If you're looking for entertaining characters, intriguing storylines, adventure, suspense, romance and Christian values then this is a book for you!
We learn more about the cosmetic company located at Lantern Beach. Many dead bodies are discovered. But the end game of this company is yet to be revealed. I'm impatiently waiting for the next book to end the mystery.
Excellent storytelling and characters. I like the strong female characters and the entertaining mysteries. Highly recommend to fans of clean mysteries and romance.
I have read a lot of Christy Barritt’s books. A lot! This, in my opinion, is her best yet. A bit of mystery, a bit of suspense, a bit of romance, and lots more! Definitely worth a read!
Wow! I couldn't put this one down! After life changing events, the character's once again have to face life and death. Will they overcome the challenges including how they think they feel for each other? Must read to find out! Thanks Christy Barritt for another great Lantern Beach story!
and you hold your breath wondering what will happen next. You even see how faith in God was lost then restored. I don't want to give the plot away just real it.
