While the techniques are very basic and there isn't much variety, I thought the book appropriate for beginners, which is what it is as the title indicates.

The author provides helpful guides on tools and materials needed to get started on stamping, including suggestions on what supplies can be used as embellishments, including scrapbooking supplies, hardware, fabrics and trims.

There isn't anything revolutionary in the techniques the book highlights but it provides a good roundup of different ways to use stamps, varied materials that can be stamped and some ideas of projects to work on. I liked some of the tips like on fixing smudges and water brushing an area of paper before tearing it off to give a softer torn look.

Overall, not a book for experienced stampers but pretty informative for the beginner.
