When the Divine Feminine instructed Sue Patton Thoele to "pour water on my women," Thoele set about writing a book to provide women with spiritual sustenance for every area of their lives. The Woman's Book of Spirit is the result of that journey.
A leader in the women's spirituality movement, Thoele offers her deepest wisdom in this collection, resulting in a powerful and profound book that can be used in a number of ways including using it as a sacred feminine oracle.
I couldn't finish this book. I just didn't find this book was for me. I didn't enjoy the stories and didn't look forward to reading it. Some pros were one story mentioned we should be thankful for the experience of aging. Another suggested to learn about your parents' background...but not necessary to only find out about the problems! Cons: I think the first thing that threw me off from this book was the "women thing." Most, if not all, of these stories could have focused on men too. Next thought, God has both masculine and feminine qualities. And finally, I love my heart, but I really don't feel like talking to it.
My grief counselor recommended this book and Ive been reading it each morning on my front porch with tea. Today a little hummer came about two feet from me as I finished the last page. It was such a warm, healing, comforting book. In the midst of a pandemic, crisis in Afghanistan, and a local fire spitting toxic fumes into the air, I was able to find peace within myself while reading each story.
2. Thank-you is the most powerful prayer, and thank-yous are invariably connected with gratitude
3. You long for peace. You think of peace as being goodwill among nations, the laying down of arms.
4. But peace is far more than this, it can only be understood and realized within your heart. It lies beneath all the turmoil and noise and clamor of the world, beneath feelings, beneath though. It is found in deep, deep silence and stillness of the soul. It is the spirit; it is God.
5. We forgive in order to free our own hearts and souls and return ourselves to a state of love.
