Envisioning Architecture: An Analysis of Drawing

Rate this book
Examples of world-renowned masters of architecture are used in this enlightening book that explores the "why" of architectural drawing, rather than the "how." By emphasizing the value of drawing over technique, the authors demonstrate how the drawing itself influences the designer's processes of thought, and exerts its own pull on the evolution of the concept.

Well...I had a few relevant sentences but Goodreads.com eliminated all this when I attempted to spell check a name in a totally different internet window! damn you goodreads....

In a nutshell, This was great not for simply covering drawing techniques, but for looking at various architects, their design methodologies, and how this is transposed to (or influenced by) the drawing. Unfortunately, this came out right at the start of the digital revolution in architecture, thus it was immediately dated. Hopefully some type of sequel covering the last 15 years is being produced somewhere.
