The girl who was to be named Phillis Wheatley was captured in West Africa in 1761 and taken to Boston by slave traders. Black Poetry Month reading

This is an historical document but may serve as a stepping stone to find more about Phillis Wheatley (peters). Good historical commentary and context. I need to find additional texts on her poetry with detailed explanations. (Of the 18th century educated mind). I am reading the latest biography of her as well.
