I was accidentaly placed in the wrong cot the night I was born and did not discover this until I was fifty seven. The result is that I have lived a life that should have been someone else's and he lived a life that should have been mine. This is a story of growing up with a father who suspected that I wasn't his son, of how I discovered I was switched at birth and how I have come to terms with the fact that I have been living in someone else's world.
This was the ramblings of a man telling about his life and his two families - birth and adopted.
The story is not well connected, and it sometimes seems to be expected that the reader know the families, so it was a little confusing at times.
I still enjoyed learning about how the family, friends and acquaintances knew where they belonged, or didn’t belong, without actually knowing it; how they ran into each other throughout the years (born in the same hospital, lived in the same area); and how the two who were switched showed non-physical characteristics and desires that were clearly from their natural families, and not their nurturing families.
