I had this for my college writing class Fall 2011. Even though we were assigned readings from it, I didn't read a whole lot, except to look at for quick reference on the type of essay I needed to write next. It explained everything well enough that I understood what I needed to focus on for each essay.
This is the textbook that's required for the class I teach, but I remain skeptical of its usefulness.
Two Stars: This book was not good for me. I can (probably) understand why someone else might like it, but I didn't. I won't be recommending it to anyone.
