Culture and Conduct is a problem-oriented introduction to the concepts and issues of cultural anthropology. Unlike a descriptive textbook, it does not cover all the topics in the field; rather, it provides glimpses into the world beyond ones own culture and challenges the reader to explore and interpret different ideas. Culture and Conduct is written in an engaging style that is easy to follow. It can be read quickly or pondered over at length.
A very popular book for Anthropology Undergraduate Seminars and Theory courses. Some may find the style of reading hard to follow (as did many of my class mates), but it is a very interesting read with many concepts that are still very central to contemporary Anthropology.
This was one of my textbooks for this semester. I found the topic interesting and the writing style engaging. It sparked an interest in anthropology for me; I'll probably end up reading this one again.
