A strange western with nothing about a rider, instead focusing on mining. Two con-artists scheme to con a young girl, recently arrived from Hawaii after the death of her parents, stealing her out of her inheritance through a false wedding. This in turn leads into a train wreck where the young woman rescues a mining engineer looking for the mother lode of gold. Romance develops but between who? Can the con man reform through love for the girl? Or can the engineer begin to notice the charms of the young woman.

Interesting story about love and redemption. I have to admit that I was surprised by the ending. This is a good read with some interesting characters.
