Favorite quote: “Courage is, in essence, the faith to keep moving from the experience of God as a void or an enemy to knowing God as a steadfast Friend.”

If you need to work on having more silence in your life, this book will be helpful. I am cut out of the Oates tradition of Pastoral Care and Counseling. Can't go wrong with this one.

A must read for high achievement-oriented folks. Lots of great advice on how to slow down and appreciate the Now (ie., how to not get caught up in the rat race). Enjoy!

My professor from seminary and a great man.. a good book. LOL he tends to wake up every dark corner of your heart before he allows you to the gift of silence !
