The Prometheus Vinctus of Aeschylus, with Introduction and Critical and Explanatory Notes by E.E. Sikes and St. J.B. Wynne Willson

(from the preface) The text is conservative...we have followed the Medicean MS and have rarely admitted conjectural emendations...In order that advanced scholars may conveniently read the text without reference to the Commentary, a few emendations have been included in the short 'apparatus criticus'...From the work of older Aeschylean scholars, especially Butler, Dindorf, Hermann, Paley and Weil, we have drawn much information. Free use has been made of Wecklein's school edition of the play, which we have examined both in the original and in Allen's translation, and the larger work ...where the latest views of Wecklein are to be found...Introducory section on the Fire-Bringer will interest some younger students.
