I love short stories ever since I read Jhumpa Lahiri. Short stories are short challenges for the writer to pack in blasts of zeal and zest to sell the characters and the story for the attention-devoid class of readers.
This book stole my heart with the gripping stories and the wonderful translations. Sadly, social issues discussed back then, still seem prevalent. You would think 30 years is a long time, but with India that's hardly the case.
I would love to write and/or translate short stories some day. This book has inspired me to do so.
Excellent for young adults as well as adults young at heart.
