This book contains a collection of papers presented at a conference on the Coronado Expedition 1540-42. Fascinating topic but not a good book for the layman in that the minutia presented in some of the papers was overwhelming (i.e. discussion of glazeware sequence, crossbow bolts etc.) I really enjoyed reading Chapter 14, discussing Zuni oral tradition and their interpretation of the encounter with Estevan, Fray Marcos, and Coronado's main party.
