Summary - Some sharks are older than dinosaurs and some smaller than you. The dwarf shark is like its name and is as small as a goldfish. Sharks' teeth can turn into fossils or necklaces. Sharks have to constantly swim or they sink.

Response - This book is filled with tons of facts, details, and pictures regarding sharks. It's very informative and asked questions along the way (true/false). The back of the book also contains a glossary.

Classrooms -

I really enjoyed this book about sharks.
Each spread is dedicated to a fact about sharks that students might not know! For example the first spread is "I didn't know that sharks are older than dinosaurs." The spread is then filled with different facts about how old sharks are and it even shows a fossil! Along with the different facts are little questions/activities for the students to complete as they read. They can be a true/false question or the kids can be challenged to find different animals on the pages! The book ends with a glossary that has different words and their definitions that are about sharks.
This is a great book to introduce children to sharks and the ocean. The final glossary is perfect to help teach new words. After reading this book, students can be challenged to find different facts about sharks that weren't included in the book!
