Tullia of Aragon (1510-1556), daughter of Cardinal Louis of Aragon and the courtesan Giulia Campana, was a cultured woman esteemed for her elegance and refinement. Her literary salon in Rome was attended by literati, intellectuals, and prominent figures of contemporary society. In 1535, she wrote her most famous work, the philosophical dialogue On the infinity of love , in which she distanced herself from classical thinkers by elaborating an original concept of Eros. The author highlights the key passages in the dialogue, allowing readers to familiarize themselves with Tullia’s thought and understand her distinctive vision of love, both in intellectual terms and in everyday life. The Appendix comprises the full text of the dialogue.
