Rate this book
More than a memoir—a meditation, a call to faith, a work of art—Tamara Davidson’s tale is one of both true love and tragedy. From her rural upbringing, the second child of seven in a low-income home, she always knew she was on a mission, but all too often, destiny is targeted by wicked thrown askew by fate. Having found pure happiness alongside her soulmate, Jermaine Bartley, Tamara never could have expected her world to be upturned in minutes.

On October 9th, 2013, her dreamlife took a nightmarish turn when a home invasion resulted in her and her fiancé being shot point-blank. Left physically scarred, mentally drained, and emotionally broken, deprived of Jermaine, who died as her protector, Tamara soon saw that the road to recovery, too, necessitated a decision to recommit her life to God. Survival was only the start of her story. The journey back to peace and joy depended on divinity and many helping...

I love that Tamara Davidson shared her story with the world.

I live in Jamaica. So when I saw the article in the Jamaica Gleaner, I was really interested in her story. So, I bought her book. I felt so bad that someone had to go through that. I literally found myself crying at various parts in the book, especially when she was describing the traumatic event. I am so happy for her recovery now, and I believe she has progressed, and continues to heal. I do not know her but I am so proud of her recovery and dedication to keep the faith. I admire her strength and unwavering faith in the Lord.

I love the chapter on forgiveness. I truly believe that if someone had done you wrong, leave vengeance to the Lord himself. To be honest, if what happened to her, happened to me, I may have taken a lot longer to forgive those gunmen. But guess what, forgiveness is for you and not them. Always remember that. I personally know that is very hard, but I appreciate the little reminder. Romans 12 verse 19 was a very important Bible verse in this regard. Thanks Tamara.

I pray continued blessings on her life. Continue doing great things Tamara.
God Bless.
