Anna Maria Geertruida Schmidt was a Dutch writer.

Although she wrote a variety of poems, songs, books, plays, musicals, and radio- en television drama, she is known best for her children's literature, for which she received the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 1988. She committed suicide a day after her 84th birthday and was buried in Amsterdam.

Floddertje is een ondeugend meisje. Ze zou alles schoon houden had ze moeder beloofd maar helaas is het haar niet gelukt. Ze besluit daarom zelf alles maar weer schoon te maken. Het pakt alleen niet zo goed uit en veegt gelijk maar met haar acties de gehele straat schoon. Zo schoon had moeder haar en hondje smeerkees nog nooit gezien.
Het is een grappig verhaal en de streken van Floddertje zijn leuk en zie ik zo ieder kind doen.

I read the English version of this very amusing book. Scrumple is often getting very messy. This book shows her doing just that, but also shows her attempting to clean up with hilarious results.
