Really interesting collection of interviews from old vaudevillians who were still living in Times Square. Lots of little anecdotes about stars hidden inside. Doesn’t have a narrative, but the collection itself is so perfect that it’s easy to tie it together in your mind and see the themes yourself. I love that.

“I’ve always liked to entertain. It’s something that surprises even me. It wakes me up unbeknownst to myself. I do a show and keep trying to improve myself and add to my act, and it keeps me going.” - Strawberry, 83 years old
