Even though I think of myself as a somewhat knowledgeable art history buff, this book exposed areas where I was not very knowledgeable and pleased to be brought more up to date. Not every artist included was to my taste, but enough were that I was glad to have sought out and read the book.

I recently moved and I looked over my books and grabbed a few out for some re-reads-as always this book is insightful and have beautiful illustrations.
