Seven colorful pop-up spreads offer a three-dimensional views of the seven modern wonders of the world--including the Golden Gate Bridge, the Eiffel Tower, the Crystal Palace, the Panama Canal, and others.
Each World Wonder is described by two little pages of text and a pop-up engineered over two pages, hardly enough space to adequately illustrated each subject! The pop-ups are themselves simply designed but look like complex structures and their color and patterning are almost whimsical. Only London's Crystal Palace is no longer in existence and I'd love to experience the two World Wonders I haven't yet (the Panama Canal and the Trans-Siberian Railroad). A fun and informative little book!
Simple, colorful, and creative, this little pop-up book describes the building of the seven modern wonders: the Crystal Palace in London (1851), the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco (1937), the Panama Canal (1914), the Eiffel Tower in Paris (1889), the Empire State Building in New York (1931), the Trans-Siberian Railway in Russia (1904), and the Statue of Liberty in New York (1886). This is a fun and informative pop-up book!
